I think this is probably my favourite out of the nail art looks I've created so far and I was disappointed when I had to remove this for filming. I currently have blue nails to match a dress I'm wearing for a fancy dinner on Saturday night but once I've removed the blue I'll definitely be trying this one out again.
The inspiration for this came from a couple of pictures of cats paws I've recently posted on Instagram (you can find my Instagram account here). My boyfriend's dad's cat has amazing paws with different coloured pads, which I might try and recreate next time if I have the right kind of pink. Looking at my paw pics on Instagram I've just realised that cats paws have four outer pads rather than three, oops!
I wanted a quite neutral colour for the base colour for this design but as I'm really not a fan of nude shades in lipstick or nail varnish the closest I had was OPI's Sand In My Suit, which then gave me the inspiration for the name of this design. I applied two coats of Sand In My Suit and then as usual sealed the base colour with a layer of Seche Vite before decorating. I then used one of my largest size dotting tool's and Bad Apple's Bad Bad and made three overlapping dots to make the main paw pad and then a slightly smaller dotting tool for dots for the outer paw pads. I then sealed the whole design with another coat of Seche Vite.

It's really easy with some dotting tools :) x
DeleteI love it, it's such a sweet idea and I think it works really well on the base colour :) I love nail art but I'm yet to dip my toe (or fingers haha) in the water!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've not long started and haven't ventured much further than dotting tools so far! x
DeleteI love this nail art, it's so sweet and cute. Although I'm a total beginner, this doesn't look too difficult. Great Post!
