This would have worked really well name wise if it was double yellow lines, but as yellow nail varnish very rarely looks good with my skin tone I don't actually have any. I was then going to go with double white lines but my go to off-white base colour for nail art has come to the end of it's now very gloopy life, so I couldn't do that either. So I pulled out my trusty OPI Sand in my suit (which I've had for years and it's still pretty much perfect) and ended up having to go for double sandy lines!
I really need to branch out with my nail art techniques as again I've used stripping tape for this one. I started with a base coat followed by a couple of coats of Sand in my suit. OPI shades can often be one coat wonders but as this is quite a light, thin shade it does need two coats. I then applied two strips of stripping tape across the nail to make the lines and painted over the top with Barry M Silk in Orchid. I then pulled the strips off while the nail varnish was still wet and sealed with a top coat once dry. Orchid is also quite a thin shade and in the photos you can see through it slightly, but you can't see this on my nails.
What do you think of double sandy lines?
That purple polish is gorgeous! I'd love to get my hands on it alone xx

It is a lovely one and it's Barry M so it's very reasonable x
DeleteWow such a gorgeous mani, and I love the combination of Sand in my Suit and Orchid. I’m going to have to definitely try this mani out :)

Thank you! It's an easy one to do (as most of my nail art is at the moment) so definitely give it a try x
DeleteThis is lovely! It looks like a negative space mani :) Barry M's Orchid is up there on my Top 10 polishes, it's so beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes I thought that after I'd done it. Sand in my suit is actually really similar to my skin tone so it doesn't really look like I'm wearing anything underneath Orchid. I really must use Orchid more often it's an amazing colour x
DeleteI wish I could stop biting mine so I could paint the as pretty as this! So jealous! Xx

I used to bite mine all the time when I was young, I never had any nails, but I can't remember what stopped me biting them now! x
DeleteOhh I love this, the nude really works well!
