The Body Shop Piñita Colada collection

I suddenly realised that summer appears to be slipping away now and I've not yet talked about The Body Shop's gorgeous Piñita Colada summer collection, so I thought I'd better get in there before both disappear!

For at least the last two years (I'm not entirely sure if they did it before that) The Body Shop have released a small collection of existing products but with a new summer influenced scent. Last year they went for Virgin Mojito and this year they've gone for Piñita Colada, so a cocktail theme appears to be emerging. I'm a huge fan of Piña Colada's, so this years theme appealed to me hugely.

The products available are a body butter, body scrub, body sorbet, shower gel and a gift set containing three of the aforementioned products and a bath lily. The Body Shop kindly sent me the Piñita Colada gift set* to try and I bought the body sorbet myself (not pictured, I forgot about it!).

If you're not familiar with the Piña Colada cocktail it's a sweet one made with rum, coconut cream  or milk and pineapple juice and it smells and tastes delicious. The Body Shop's Piñita Colada collection is scented with pineapple and coconut, so it smells just like the cocktail of a similar name (I have no idea why this is Piñita rather Piña).

Generally The Body Shop's body butters are a little too heavy for me but I'm happy to go in with a light layer of the Piñita Colada body butter just so I get that amazing scent. Although this is more of a summer scented product I will probably be saving most of this for the winter when my skin really can become unmanageable dry at times.

If your skin finds the body butters a little too heavy or you don't have particularly dry skin than the body sorbet might be more up your street. This is a much lighter moisturiser that does have an almost sorbet like consistency (it's not quite as 'frozen' as a sorbet) and absorbs almost instantly. It's also the perfect product for hot, sticky summer days because it has a cooling effect when applied, so it's ideal for hot, tired legs.

I love a good scrub for trying to get rid of any scaly skin I might have and to try and help any products I apply actually be absorbed into my skin. The body scrub is the perfect consistency for me; not too harsh so it feels like you're actually removing a layer of skin, but not too subtle so it doesn't feel like it's actually doing anything. I think this might actually have real little bits of coconut in too and like all the other product it smells amazing.

I always find it a little difficult to know what to say about shower gels but this doesn't dry out my skin, gives a nice lather and smells amazing, so I guess there's not much more to say about it really!

Prices for the Piñita Colada collection range between £5 and £25 and it is still currently available in store and online so get yourself down there before this one slips away like our 'summer' apparently already has done.

Update: The Pinita Colada collection is no longer available
